What's the difference between a torsion spring and an extension spring?
In terms of size, a torsion spring tends to have a larger gauge. In a typical setup, one torsion spring is attached to a shaft just above the doorway and functions via torque. Extension springs on the other hand work in pairs and function through recoil. Your garage door can have one or more pairs that are situated at the left and right sides of the door.
Why do I have to measure the driveway?
It's important to measure the driveway if you've decide to get a new garage door. As most doors opens outwards, you need to be sure there is enough space in the driveway for the door to open, and for your car.
Is it easy to replace the opener lamps?
Garage door opener lamps can be replaced like any other bulb in the house. First, you need to turn the light switch off and remove the old bulb. If the fixture is high, be sure to find a steady ladder to climb up. Be sure to check that any replacement bulb you buy is the correct wattage or you could trigger an electrical fault.
